Elizabeth

Co-Owner, Practice Manager

Elizabeth

Elizabeth worked in the telecommunications industry for many years before becoming a veterinary professional. When she met her husband, Dr. Tom Tischer, she realized that an opportunity had presented itself—here was a way for Elizabeth to help not only pets themselves, but their loving owners as well! Now, Elizabeth is proud to make a real difference as Neshoba County Animal Hospital’s Practice Manager.

Born and raised in Florence, MS, Elizabeth entered the telecommunications field early on in life; her parents owned an independent telephone company. After living and working in New Jersey, Alabama, and Kentucky, Elizabeth met Dr. Tischer in 2002. The couple was married in 2004 and moved to San Antonio, Texas, where Elizabeth started helping out at the veterinary clinic that her husband was working for at the time.

It didn’t take long for Elizabeth and her husband to realize what a good team they made in the animal care industry—they decided to pursue their dream of owning their very own veterinary practice. Elizabeth found her life coming full circle as the pair returned to Mississippi and opened Neshoba County Animal Hospital! Here at the clinic, she’s particularly fond of interacting with the hospital’s clientele and helping pets give birth to their litters.

In her time away from work, Elizabeth enjoys tending to her chickens and roosters at home, reading, knitting and crocheting, painting, gardening, and spending time with her family. She has two sons: Richard, who serves in the United States Navy and currently lives in Florida with his wife and six children; and Lewis, who lives in Tennessee with his wife and two young children.

Jennifer

Veterinary Technician

Jennifer

Jennifer grew up right here in Neshoba County, on a small farm with horses and other animals. From an early age, she knew she wanted to one day work with animals as a profession, but as is often the case, life took her in a slightly different direction. Thankfully, Jennifer found her way back to her roots and is now living out her lifelong dream!

After finishing college, Jennifer and her husband decided to start a family. She spent several years raising her daughter and son, and once they were both in school, decided it was time for her to officially pursue her passion. She joined the Neshoba County Animal Hospital team in October of 2016. As a veterinary technician, Jennifer has a particular interest in animal dentistry, as she believes it plays a central role in the overall health of our patients.

At home, Jennifer lives with her husband, Myron, their daughter, Harper, and their son, Parker. Despite Myron’s futile request not to bring home strays from the clinic, their ever-growing fur-family currently consists of two Jack Russell terriers (Jack and Rose), a Yorkie-poo (Jasper), a cat (Fiona), and a horse (Looper). Jennifer’s hobbies include working out, competing in 5ks with Harper, going to the beach, and attending concerts. An avid hunter, Jennifer’s biggest harvest thus far has been a 9-point buck.

Maci

Receptionist

Macie

Macie has a passion for helping people and animals alike, making her role as receptionist here at Neshoba County Animal Hospital the perfect fit! Not only does she get to provide support and guidance to pet parents, but she also gets to expand her knowledge about keeping animals healthy. It’s a win-win!

Prior to joining the NCAH team in August of 2023, Macie had experience working front desk jobs in other industries. When the opportunity arose to transition to the veterinary field, she jumped at the chance. Professionally, Macie enjoys the fact that no two days are the same and she is learning new things daily.

At the end of a long day, Macie enjoys going home to her daughter and fur-babies. They always give the best hugs and kisses.

Leighann

Receptionist

LeighAnn

LeighAnna grew up in Philadelphia, in a small family with lots of pets. Her parents would routinely rescue animals in need and bring them home to become part of the crew. This kind of upbringing fostered a deep love and respect within LeighAnna for all creatures – something she’s been able to put to good use here at NCAH.

LeighAnna joined the Neshoba County Animal Hospital team in August of 2023. As soon as she learned we were hiring, she knew she had found the perfect job and was eager to apply. As one of the dedicated team members making sure our front desk runs smoothly, LeighAnna enjoys meeting new people, getting to know them, and of course, interacting with patients.

Outside of the clinic, LeighAnna lives with her wild but sweet boxer, Luna, and five rescue cats: Salem, Lucy, Sampson, Bellami, and Ford. When she’s not busy working or playing with her pets, you will usually find LeighAnna painting. She recently learned a new technique that makes her work look even better.

Katelyn

Kennel Attendant

Katelyn

When Katelyn was a child, she was fascinated with animals and wanted to learn everything she could about them. It came as no surprise that she would eventually end up in a job working with animals on a daily basis. As one of the kennel technicians here at Neshoba County Animal Hospital, Katelyn is doing what she loves and enjoying every minute!

Katelyn joined the NCAH team in June of 2023. Professionally, she enjoys taking on tasks above and beyond her job duties, particularly if they involve helping the doctors and veterinary technicians. She is eager to learn and loves seeing patients who were once ill or injured make a full recovery to become happy, and healthy once again.

Katelyn’s love of pets extends beyond the clinic to her four dogs: Tiny, Wingnut, Sister, and Baby. She also has a snake named OD who likes to get out and roam, and a goat who will do tricks for a treat. Katelyn’s favorite pastime is fishing because it’s something she did with her grandpa every weekend. She also enjoys bull riding.
